Sister Stanislaus Kennedy and Mary Raftery

Sister Stanislaus Kennedy of the Sisters of Charity has been a prominent worker with the poor and the marginalised since the 1970s when she helped set up the first training course for lay social workers. Presumably that is why she has been the target of frequent denunciations by journalist and broadcaster Mary Raftery - whose efforts on behalf of the poor, seem to be confined to the media world.

Mary Raftery accused Sister Stanislaus of ignoring allegations of child abuse in the 1970s and also of berating civil servants for failing to give credit to the Church.
